We were honoured to celebrate a proud moment for the Fiji Development Bank as our CEO, Mr. Filimone Waqabaca, served as the Chief Guest at the Fiji National University 2025 Graduation Ceremony for the College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS).
The ceremony recognised the achievements of 399 graduates who completed years of dedication, sacrifice, and resilience. In his inspiring keynote address, Mr. Waqabaca acknowledged the landowners of Valelevu Nadonumai, and its leaders – Turaga na Tui Suva, honoured the support of families and lecturers, and congratulated the Class of 2025 for their perseverance and commitment.
During his address, he reminded graduates that their qualification is “not just a certificate, but a platform to innovate, to lead, to lift communities, and to shape Fiji’s future.” He highlighted the rapid transformation across industries, emphasising that Fiji’s progress depends on the strength of its human capital.
Mr. Waqabaca also shared three powerful messages with the graduates:
He further expressed confidence that the Class of 2025 will become Fiji’s next generation of entrepreneurs, analysts, managers, creators, tourism leaders, and innovators, guided by respect, humility, resilience, and ethical leadership.
FDB was proud to stand with these young achievers as they stepped boldly into the future prepared, inspired, and ready to contribute to Fiji’s continued growth.
Congratulations once again to the CBHTS Class of 2025!
