In an effort to support wellness and work-life balance, the Fiji Development Bank (FDB) has provided sponsorship for Round 3 of the Business House Bowling Competition. The cheque presentation was handed to the Suva Bowling Club representatives on the 22nd of July.
The sponsorship highlights the Bank’s ongoing support for community and business engagement. It brings together both seasoned professionals and young up-and-comers, creating an informal space for mentoring and idea-sharing.
The CEO of FDB, Mr. Filimone Waqabaca said that, “FDB understands it’s good business when it plays a role in bringing people together. From boardrooms to bowling lanes, we appreciate the opportunity to ‘get the ball rolling’ with business and interpersonal connections that power Fiji’s economy.”
“Events like this are where relationships start or they rekindle, and then they build from there. That’s just as important as any investment and we’re celebrating Fiji’s unique corporate culture. The competition reflects a uniquely Fijian tradition where business meets sport. Success is celebrated in friendships formed and laughter shared, along with a few lucky strikes along the way,” he added.
This popular tournament attracts over 25 teams, including participants from financial institutions, the business community, and other service providers. The competition officially commenced on 24th July and will run for a duration of 8 weeks.
Organisations competing in the event include Telecom Fiji, Fiji Gas, the Unit Trust of Fiji, HFC Bank, and FNPF among others. Adding to the spirit of camaraderie, FDB has also entered a team to take on the challenge alongside other businesses.
