During recent staff interaction sessions at Sigatoka, Lautoka, and Nadi Branches, FDB Board Chairman, Mr Damend Gounder, emphasized that the Fiji Development Bank’s impact on communities goes beyond monetary values.
He reiterated that the true value lies in positive changes and transformations brought about by FDB in the lives of individuals, families, and society at large.
Mr Gounder cited FDB’s recent lending to Rise Beyond the Reef as a prime example of empowering communities. As part of his visit to Rise Beyond the Reef’s farm office in Sabeto, Nadi earlier this week, he witnessed the manufacturing process of their internationally recognized products, which will soon be available on Amazon.
Chairman Gounder emphasized that lending of this nature by the FDB contributes to societal empowerment and the overall growth and development of Fiji’s economy. He also commended the great work of the FDB West Team for ‘holding hands of the customers’ during COVID-19 and ensuring that they get the much-needed support and guidance in terms of their financial obligations to the Bank.
He also underscored the vital role played by every staff member in the Bank’s ongoing efforts. Recognizing their contributions to FDB’s success, Mr Gounder encouraged staff to continue providing exceptional services to clients while nurturing relationships built on trust and integrity.
During the interaction sessions, Chairman Gounder also shared his vision for the Bank and emphasized the crucial role FDB plays in driving economic growth and supporting local businesses.
“I would like to remind you all of the importance of upholding FDB’s core values of integrity, professionalism, innovation, and collaboration, as they are key to achieving the Bank’s mission,” Mr Gounder advised the staff.
FDB CEO, Mr Saud Minam, acknowledged Chairman Gounder for his visits to the Northern and Western Branches.
Mr Minam highlighted that these interactive sessions not only reinforced the bond between leadership and employees but also showcased the Bank’s high regard for its staff and customer service delivery.
“With renewed purpose and motivation for the new financial year, FDB staff members are well-positioned to continue their diligent service to the community and contribute to Fiji’s economic growth. The Fiji Development Bank remains committed to its mission of empowering communities and driving sustainable development across Fiji.”
